The collection consists of records of the Georgia Baptist Association and its predecessor, the Georgia Association from 1816-1977. The records include Executive Committee minutes, (1816-1845, 1878-1977), Administrative Committee minutes (1969-1975), minutes of the third district (1871-1932), minutes of the fifth district (1887-1916), minutes of the ministers conference of the Georgia Baptist Association (1905-1913), minutes of the deacon's and ministers meetings (1866-1886), and a typescript history of the Woman's Missionary Union of the Georgia Baptist Association (1933). The minutes document the activities of the Association as well as member churches and contain information on committee appointments and reports on such topics as missions, finance, Sunday schools, ministerial education, temperance, publications, and deceased ministers. The minutes also include resolutions passed, decisions made, and lists of member churches and their representatives to the Association.
